Senior Systems Engineer
SYRDEC is looking for an outstanding Senior Systems Engineer.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Electronic Warfare concepts with a decent knowledge of RF propagation principles - especially associated with satellite communications.
The applicant MUST hold at least a SECRET clearance. Please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement.
Job Duties
Translating operational concepts and requirements into technical specifications.
Be the organization’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Electronic Warfare (EW), specifically the impact of friendly and enemy EW activities as will impact the Program (interoperability/compatibility).
Provide engineering guidance and recommendations for space and terrestrial RF propagation losses for specific signals of interest.
Provide engineering analysis for system and subsystem designs.
Help the organization to adhere to proper Systems Engineering methods and principles.
Stay up to date from a technical perspective on new and existing sensor types.
Position Requirements
Translate operational concepts and requirements into technical specifications.
Develop test strategies to enable proof-of-concept studies.
Analyze system designs - both hardware and software for engineering and implementation viability and be able to suggest alternative design strategies to meet mission requirements.
Should understand the relationship between engineering reviews and documentation to include SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, SEP, SEMP, TEMP, SRD, SSS, SSDD, etc.
Have a sufficient mathematical background to understand particle and Kalman filter concepts, capabilities, and limitations.
Understand “pace the threat” concepts and advise specific technical strategies to meet those objectives.
Covid-19 Considerations
Work from home through 9/30/21 with occasional meetings at APG. After 9/30, work from home Mondays and Fridays, at APG Tue - Thur.
Masks required (for now) while at APG.
